Plagiarism and AI Policy

Plagiarism and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
JACODI is committed to upholding scientific publication ethics and academic integrity. Therefore, we implement strict policies regarding manuscript originality, plagiarism prevention, and the boundaries of Artificial Intelligence (AI) use in the writing process.

1. Plagiarism Policy
Every author submitting a manuscript to JACODI must ensure that the submitted work is original, has never been published before, and is not currently under review by another journal.

Similarity Check: All submitted manuscripts will be checked using plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin or iThenticate) before entering the peer-review process.

Tolerance Limit: The maximum allowed similarity index is 20% (excluding the bibliography and correctly formatted direct quotations).

Actions Against Plagiarism:
a. If minor to moderate plagiarism indications are found at the initial stage, the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision.
b. If severe plagiarism indications are found (e.g., substantially copying another person's work without attribution), the manuscript will be directly rejected (desk reject).
c. If plagiarism is proven after the article is published, JACODI reserves the right to retract the article (retraction) and publish a retraction notice.

2. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
JACODI recognizes the rapid development of Generative AI technology (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc.) and its use in the academic sphere. We follow the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding the use of AI:
a. AI programs or Large Language Models (LLMs) cannot be listed as an author or co-author in the manuscript. AI lacks the capacity to be legally and ethically responsible for scientific work.
b. Authors are allowed to use AI tools solely to improve language quality (proofreading), correct grammar, translate, or refine sentence structure, provided it does not alter the substance of the data and scientific ideas.
c. If authors use AI in the manuscript preparation process, they must declare its use. This declaration should be included at the end of the manuscript (e.g., in the Acknowledgments or Declaration of AI Use section), specifying the name of the AI tool, version, and purpose of use (example: "The author used [AI Name] to help improve the English grammar in the initial draft of this manuscript").

Full Author Responsibility: Human authors hold full responsibility for the entire content, data accuracy, citation correctness, and originality of the manuscript. AI is known to generate incorrect information or fictitious citations (hallucinations); therefore, authors must meticulously verify every output generated by AI.

Prohibition: The use of AI to generate or manipulate research data, experimental results, or analytical images/graphics is strictly prohibited and is considered a severe ethical violation (data fabrication).

3. Consequences of Violation
Violations of the plagiarism policy or the non-transparent use of AI may result in:
a. Unilateral rejection of the manuscript by the Editorial Board.
b. Banning the author from submitting future manuscripts to the JACODI journal.
c. Notification to the relevant author's institution or affiliation in the event of a severe publication ethics violation.
